Consistently inconsistent... or maybe its a consistently on-again/off-again. It seems like I've been bouncing back & forth between good weeks & not so good weeks... and the scale totally reflects this. Today I am up just a bit, 0.6 lbs. Ugh, another freakin gain!!!
While I could be all discouraged by this slight increase, I'm not... especially considering the truth of my week. Yes, I had meals planned and yes, I had exercise planned. But ya know this my life and things rarely go according to plan. I ended up eating restaurant food... hmm... 4-5 times & I had planned for once or twice at the most. Six days of exercise turned into just three days. Its a minimal increase & I'm just going to shove it from my mind.
There are so many other things that tell the story of how I'm doing. Even though I've spent my "shopping allowance" for the month, I went to Maurices yesterday, just to try on clothes. Retail therapy without the guilt of overspending... hmmm I didn't know I was capable of such a thing, but apparently I am. The condensed version, I tried on about a dozen different outfits, all but one from the regular side of the store. The one from the plus size side, size 14 Capri's & cute little t-shirt were obviously too big. I've been on the regular side for awhile, but still bouncing back & forth for some things. So according to the lovely ladies at the store, I have officially graduated & am no longer allowed to look at the plus size side of the store. :)
I am thinking about changing what I use to track my food and exercise. Definitely want something easy to navigate on the computer and on my phone as well. What do you use?
I have more to share today... so I'll be back... right now I'm off to ponder ways to become consistently consistent!

Thank you for finding my blog! Pleased to meet ya!
I'm pleased to hear that life interferes with the best made plans for someone else.
I don't shop as often as I'd like to - just not enough time. But it does feel inspiring to see what's out there and dream how great it would be to wear something lovely.
I shop thrift stores, and have happily given the gift of thrift store shopping to my daughter - its one of our favorite things to do and she loves it when she can go to school in a pair of American Eagle pants she got practically new while the girl next to her paid $100 retail!
I LOVE caloriecount.com!!! Not only can you input your food (I am diabetic, so I weigh all my food so I can figure out how much insulin I need), but it also has a New Recipe feature - plug in the ingredients, serving size, save it and you can add it to your log.
So if I eat egg sammies for breakfast a lot, that is saved as a recipe and I just add it.
Let me know if you try it out! Sorry for the long comment, I just type really fast!
.6 isn't bad at all! I had a similar gain and you just take it stride.
To track, I used Weight Watchers. They have wonderful programs for the Blackberry and iPhone and it makes tracking on the go super easy!
But good for you for getting those 3 days in! Yes, you had 6 planned, but if you're like me in the past there were many weeks with 0 workouts. I use sparkpeople.com and sparkpeople mobile on my phone.
I'm a big bargain shopper & know all of our area thrift stores well. I never would have been able to replenish my wardrobe without them. :)
Kat, does sparkpeople have a recipe builder of any kind? I remember looking at it in the past & couldn't find one.
Hey lady,
I had a blog about the exact same thing. I definately shop at the thrift stores. It is so much fun and for once I can afford anything in the store. As far as the food intake I use either www.caloriecounter.com or www.fitday.com. If you eat the same foods each day fitday is really easy bc you can click on the recent foods and add to your daily count. It even counts fat, carbohydrates, and protein.
