How "The Accidental Fat Chick" Hatched...

Welcome to The Accidental Fat Chick's new online home!

During the summer 0f 2008, I woke up one morning with a drive to live a healthy lifestyle. Since then, I've made many changes and lost nearly 50 pounds. Many of my friends and family members have come to me, asking about what I'm doing & how I'm doing it. While I certainly would never claim to be an expert, I'm happy to share what I've learned along the way.

So after careful thought... "The Accidental Fat Chick" has hatched... with the hope of helping at least one person and to be the accountability I need to finish what I started. :)

Thank you for visiting!!

Deployment Challenge Quickie #1

So far I have one person - Debbie - who says she's doin this bout of craziness with me, two people that may start late (I HOPE THEY DO) and it sounds like one person that will do the monthly bike marathon with me.

Exercise hasn't happened for me yet. :(
My plan was to start yesterday, but then mystery pain hit & changed my plans. About the Vicodin, I took the prescribed dose for my chest wall pain (this felt similar, though more widespread) and that was prescribed for my current weight +/- 5 lbs... so I really don't know what the deal was with it making me feel icky.

Day 1 Calories: 1,499
Day 2 Calories: 1,190

So far so good on the food. Tonight is a planned dinner out... so we'll see how that goes.

I'll be back with a "real" post later. Hope everyone is having a great day so far. :)

I am working on a challenge of my own...
M-W-F - run 4-6 miles increasing distance and time, plus full body weights and abs

T- Zumba and swimming (building to 1 mile)

Th- Spin and swim

Saturday or Sunday- long run, and or walks/tennis or other sport with the kids, and hopefully at least an hour of yoga

Burning about 1000 calories a workout and doing more if not.

Goal to do half marathon in the fall, maybe a sprint triathlon.

Loving your challenge, I know you can do it. Working hard myself!

Oh... I have had that chest wall pain. It sent me to the ER in the early hours, almost two years ago. I was prescribed Vicodin but I just used Advil for it. Lots of rest is the only thing you can really do to make it go away. So aggrivating. Feel better, soon.

I had to take a pain pill the other day for the first time in almost 6 weeks, for some pain from my car accident.

I've been feeling AWESOME those 6 weeks... one pill? And I've been feeling like crap for going on 3 days now. So, it's pretty normal from the sounds of it. My arms feel heavier, my mood is crap, my energy is crap... let's give it a few more days before we start getting down on ourselves! (me included!)
